My daughter has started a magazine that talks about health of women in fitness, cross fit workouts, tanning and the benefits of it, beauty (my area) supplements to help your hair grow and your insides get healthier. She did a great job launching this magazine digitally available. As you can see, this mom-to-be had to find products that were good for her baby belly full of twins. They are almost 2.5 years old now but still using the products on herself and her twins.

We realized that if we felt that we needed to use more of a vegan product that worked that other mother’s would appreciate using a product that moisturized not just their baby belly but their baby to prevent dry skin, prevents diaper rash as a barrier and helps protect their baby’s fragile skin.

When we are younger, we moisturize with creams and lotions. As we age, we are more concerned about whether we have the potential of falling taking a step out of bed. How do I know that? I asked my clients what their greatest fear was. It wasn’t dry skin, it was the fear of falling. Older people have lost the confidence to once do what they used to do no matter if their mind is sharp as a tack. The last think they are thinking about is their dry crepe skin.

3 best ways to prevent crepey skin

Skin loses elasticity as we age because of dehydration and other factors. There’s no way to completely avoid crepey skin, but there are a few ways to delay it.

1. Stick to the shade. The most important thing to do, says Dr. Kassouf is to stay out of the sun as much as possible. Also, protect your skin when you’re in the sun with a hydrating sun skin.
2. Make skin hydration a priority. Keeping skin well-hydrated with a good moisturizer helps prevent injury that creates or worsens crepiness.
3. Pay attention to ingredients. Make sure your moisturizer contains alpha or beta hydroxy acids, such as salicylic acid, lactic acid or glycolic acid. These products lubricate and plump the skin, helping reduce that crepey appearance, Dermatologist, Dr. Amy Kassouf says. Older skin gets dry, flaky kind of like a sun burn that is peeling, only it’s DRY SKIN. Brazilian waxing for the first time will catch the hairs that are grown out to the size of a piece of rice. The hair grows at separate intervals. It’s important to note that we may not be able to wax every single hair at different growth rates therefore, we will wax and tweeze the lingering hairs.

By scheduling in another two – three weeks, we will catch the growth all at the same time till the hair is on the same cycle. We explain this at your consultation. We recommend a product called EPIL Comfort from Guinot  that will help retard the new growth to extend the length of your waxing service.

Are you as productive as you thought you were? Feel like you aren’t getting ahead in the day? Loads of emails to filter through or find that your facebook page is more interesting? So many of our days are filled with filtering through our emails from people we aren’t really interested in however; it takes time to delete to remove them.

Recently I had attended an Irrational Summit with a bunch of really smart economists that shed a light on the economy and the what if’s when or if Trump would become President of the United States. The group also had created some potential outcomes if Hillary would be elected. Well, this was an eye opener because:

• if Trump were elected productivity would jump because he would cause a stir amongst public investments
• the Fed would initiate changes based on his decisions and the goal to increase revenue for the country would be to get people more productive then the general population currently works about 34 hours. We are losing millions of dollars by workers not working as many hours that were available in our country. (this was interesting)
• the amount of money that is committed by country monthly would have an affect on our citizens because of medicaid, medicare and the amount of people that are dependent on “the system”.
• the conversation went on and on with everyone’s opinions on investing.

My personal thoughts to this conversation were what are doing as an action step to be more productive with your time. Is it checking all of your social media accounts for hours on end? Is it talking on the phone more or emails that really just fill up your day with non producing money making activities? Are you taking care of the co-workers, customers, clients associated with you?

Every time you check and email that goes nowhere eats up your time. Time you don’t get back. Think about the time dragons that eat up your valuable time that could be taken to meet with a potential client, close down your computer that isn’t offering you what you need. How about advanced education? Does it really have to be somebody’s else’s responsibility or could you schedule a training for yourself to further your career?

I find that when I spend a some time preparing myself in the morning with goals, appropriate makeup for the day, style my hair for interactions with people that my day has a more productive feel to it. Planning, preparing to execute a day is important to achieve goals in life. The question remains, what are you doing with your time during your 24 hours a day to be more productive? Are you spending time with people that drag you down emotionally or do you spend time with people that lift you up or contribute to your life. I find that I’ve run into both types during the years. I learned this tip from Brian Tracy, Author and speaker. He said you can’t eat a frog in one day. You’ve got to break down your goals in to bite size nimblers to achieve the big goal over time.

For example, getting ready in the morning could take 30 minutes to 45 minutes depending on how my makeup counter is set up. If its all jumbled then my makeup application would take longer because I have to hunt for things. I do have all of my makeup organized into sections such as moisturizer because that goes on first, foundation colors goes on second so I have it positioned them to the right of my counter so that I don’t have to think about where to reach for them. The other makeup items such as eye shadow, liners (can’t give away all my secrets) are lined up in order of makeup application. This has proven very efficient, time saving so much that it dropped my get ready time down to 15 minutes from shower to out the door. It pays to be productive with time management. This is situational time management.

Gel manicures have proven they help support and protect flimsy nails. For about 20 years I’ve worn acrylic nails and was very happy with the way they looked till I received a green shade of fungus as a result of being in and out of water. Being a hairstylist working in water, hair color, bleaching processes and general rough handling of my nails they take a beating daily.

For many years, my nails were great until about a year ago, I had removed all of the acrylic and decided to go with the natural nail. I had avoided  touching anything. The nail beds were so thin and fragile. It hurt to touch any object after the removal. After about a month they started to be more normal, however; the appearance of the nails were a far cry from what I was used to. My nails were brittle, dry and you could see the drill smiles in the nail bed. One of my nails actually had ripped on the corner. The nail was so flimsy that it would bend backwards. I was really concerned that having acrylics on for so many years may have damaged my actual nail beds that I may not have been able to grow my nails out.

Hair color stained them because they were so porous and  looked like I was dragging my fingers through the dirt. Professionally speaking, a well shaped shorter squared off nail makes nails more polished looking. The nails are more proportionally shaped to enhance my hands.
