Why is it that a tan can boost our self confidence?

Salon York PA We are in the day and age where our skin idols are Snookie and the cast of the Jersey Shore. Don’t get me wrong, this season’s Jersey Shore cast is in shape now more than ever before, and JWow has a body that could compete with any Victoria Secret model.

Okay…off topic, I know, but come on…it’s true. A tan, whether it be a Driveway Diva Tan, or the delicate mist from an aerosol bottle, is a true self-confidence booster. Here’s what I don’t get-How do we go from high society and royalty staying indoors to avoid the sun and look as pale as possible to the more tan the better?

I have tried several self-tanners. The most recent self tanner is the Banana Boat “Summer Color” self-tanning mist. It has a light citrus scent, and seems to apply evenly while standing like a naked star. The hardest part about a misting self-tanner is applying evenly on your mid to upper back. I mean, it’s quite difficult to wrap your arm and aim the nozzle at the same time. Best bet is to have a girlfriend help you out.

After I’ve applied one coat, I start noticing and feeling instantly confidence about my body and my overall appearance. Hey, for $6.97, I’ll take confidence in a mist! Toward the back end of the week, and several self-tanning applications, I really start to feel good about myself. It’s an excellent way to start any day, especially a Manic Monday.

Here’s to Spray on Confidence!

Salon York PA Normally, I skim the yahoo headlines (briefly!) every morning before beginning my day, and lately, all I’ve been seeing are articles about our “economic climate,” stocks, and the feds, and,to be honest,…I’m sick of it.

My brain is overloaded by all the chitter chatter of the downturn of our economy. I studied economics in college, and yes, there are a zillion facets to our economic environment, and a million things that can have an impact on whether or not we are climbing up or sliding down.

Here’s what I think.

We all need to manage our own economic bubble. Plain and Simple.

Prices are constantly going to rise and fall, and it’s no surprise that our fruits and vegetables sections at the grocery store are always going to be more expensive. Let’s face it…we need to take responsibility for our own actions. Sometimes our desires outweigh our actual needs, and that is where the trouble lies. For example, I desperately want a couch from Pottery Barn. The soft fluff of the cushions, the cozy comfort, luxuriously silky fabric, the way I am perfectly propped whilst being snuggled ever so safe in the embrace of the cushions.

Here’s the reality- A Pottery Barn couch can cost upwards of $2000-3000 depending on the style. Last time I checked, my money tree was just a seedling. Here’s the point-I either make a decision to save money, then, once I have saved enough money, purchase my dream couch-OR-settle for a couch that resembles my beloved Pottery Barn. We need to manage our spending, our debt, our desires, our needs, and, in doing so, we’ll level out our own economic bubble. Additionally, we must not forget to give to those who are less fortunate than ourselves. There is always someone in this world who is worse off than you and me. By giving, we will receive ten-fold back. The Main Man will watch your back, whether you believe it or not.

If we manage our money, pay off debt, and save money to purchase the things we desire, we’ll turn our economy around, and will influence the National Economic environment as well.

If you have no idea how to begin managing your money start by reading these great books to help you understand your relationship with money: “The Science of Getting Rich” by Wallace D. Wattles, “Thoughts or Things” by Prentice Muldoon, “Automatic Millionaire” by David Back, and any book by Bob Proctor will be well worth the investment.

Let me know how your Money Tree Flourishes.

As always..Live Your Life…Full Throttle!.

Salon York PA What is this Paleo, New Evolution Lifestyle everyone keeps talking about?

Recently, I was given “The New Evolution Diet” written by Arthur De Vany. I had put off reading it up until last week, and even still I only read the first chapter and put the book down. I didn’t put it down because it wasn’t an interesting read, but because I’ve read so many “diet” books that claim they are the way to go, and that every other fad diet out there isn’t good. About two days ago I started reading it again and as I’m making my way through the chapters, I’m realizing how much sense this book actually makes. It’s unbelievable how many foods we eat are the link to why we have diseases and illnesses. The New Evolution Diet explains how some foods are the main causes of diabetes, obesity, and inflammation in our bodies. The author explains how our cells function in our body, and how it processes our food. We live in a world of processed and enriched foods that, yes, taste amazing, but our inherently terrible for our figures and our health.

I am curious as to the difference it could make to not only my health…but my voluptuous figure. The idea is just not sinking in that I can eat any of the “allowed” foods that I want, and exercise less resulting in the body that I’ve always desired. How can this possibly happen?

Stay tuned for more info into my quest for answers on the Paleo lifestyle…
